Today marks the beginning of our Christmas Advent season. For the next five Sundays we will be focusing on “The Characters of the Nativity!” This year each of our past oral staff will take a character involved with the birth of Christ, and teach us the value, and importance of the Nativity in our life today.
Beginning with the Old Testament and the Nativity prophecies, and ending with the visit of the wisemen, I am excited to learn what the Holy Spirit would say to us about this event the brought to us the savior of the world.
Whether the world, or even us, for that matter, realizes it, we are profoundly affected by the Nativity. The birth of Christ split history in half and has, or can, split our life as well. What we do with the Christ Child, except or reject, will determine eternity for us. All of us are dead in our sins, but, upon excepting Jesus as our Savior, our life, our redeemed life, begins anew.
Thank you, Jesus, for coming as a baby. Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to help me live a life pleasing to you. Thank you!
We look forward to seeing you each advanced Sunday as we discover God’s truths for us through “The Characters of the Nativity.”
