America, America, America, what happened to our nation? The land of the free. We think that the sin in our nation can’t get much worse than it is. In this country, we have homosexuals and same sex marriages. And we have those groups of people say, “We have our rights and want the government to help keep them.” I often think of the Book of Judges where fourteen times it says, “And once again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord.”
By the way, we picked up speed when we took prayer out of our schools. In Judges, the Lord would raise up a king and when he or she would die, the nation would fall deeper into sin. It seems to me we fall deeper and deeper into sin, also. Proverbs 29:18 tells us, “Where there is no vision or revelation from God, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Where there is ignorance of God, crime and sin run wild.
Our nation needs a greater understanding of the wonderful grace and love of God. The church has often failed to demonstrate and communicate that love. As a result, the unfortunate events of mass killings and senseless attacks occur much too often. The Word tells us it can and probably will get worse. As believers, we need to pay attention, get serious about our communicating of Christ’s love, and combat the evil that is trying to seize our nation with the great love and grace of Jesus. In order for a nation to function well, the people must know God’s ways and keep His commandments, and walk in His ways.
Lord, forgive us of our sins and may we turn to You for guidance as a nation, for You are the only way.
Thank You, Lord, for Your promises and Your Word!
