New Digs

It seems like Susan and I have been moving forever. We started packing stuff way back in April. Last Sunday night we stayed in our “New Digs” for the first time. We moved from Dover where we lived for the past eighteen years to an old farm house built in the late 1800’s. lt’s a grand old place with a lot of charm and character. My dad was born there which adds to the charm. We are settling in! Boxes, boxes, and more boxes. How many times have we asked, “Honey, do you know what box” . . . It is amazing how much “stuff” you can accumulate over the years. “Look what I found!” “Didn’t know we still had this…” “We need to get rid of this junk!” As we open this new chapter in our lives, as we adjust to living out in the country, as we put things together, I find myself being so grateful for all the blessing in our lives.

It hasn’t been an easy move . . . our timing had a lot to be desired. (We went to Hawaii, Japan, Thailand, had heart surgery), trying to move and keep up with all of the other things in our life . . . but, in the midst of it all we find the blessing of God. I needed to look for those blessings. I did, and I found them. Thank you Lord!

Whatever we are going through in life, we can find God’s blessings, if we would just look. Even when things are not going as you plan, God will use those events, situations to “work together for your good.” Look for His hand of blessing each and every day. As you recognize those blessings, thank Him for them, once again you will be blessed.
